Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met with Ali al-Safi, head of the Al-Sawafi tribes and former MP for Dhi Qar Governorate, to discuss the role of tribes in Iraq’s national unity.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the requirements of the upcoming phase following the successful elections. Discussions highlighted the importance of tribal leaders and sheikhs in fostering a unified national discourse, which is seen as essential for moving towards a more stable period that enhances social cohesion and meets the aspirations of all Iraqis.
