Moscow: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji met in the Russian capital with leaders of the Assyrian Church of the East, including His Holiness Patriarch Mar Awa III, during a session focused on fostering peaceful coexistence. The meeting, which also included His Beatitude Mor Aphrem Nathaniel, His Grace Bishop Mar Narsai Benjamin, and Father Samona Khoshaba, was a part of a broader dialogue aimed at strengthening interfaith bonds.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the dialogue underscored the importance of harmonious living among diverse religious groups, which is essential for societal stability and peace. Al-Araji highlighted Iraq’s unique strength derived from its rich religious, national, ethnic, and cultural diversity, rooted in its historical civilizations.
Patriarch Mar Awa III expressed his joy over Iraq’s current state of stability and peace, emphasizing that the fraternal solidarity among various religious and ethnic communities is crucial for lasting peace. He reiterated that peaceful coexistence remains the cornerstone for consolidating peace within societies.
