Baghdad: The security advisor to the Prime Minister, Qasim al-Araji, affirmed that security and intelligence cooperation is a cornerstone for enhancing security and stability at both the regional and international levels.
According to Iraqi News Agency, al-Araji made this statement in a post on the X platform, emphasizing the Iraqi government's belief in the significance of developing mechanisms for exchanging information, coordinating joint efforts, combating the financing of terrorism, and tightening border security. This cooperation is seen as essential in enhancing the ability to anticipate and effectively counter various threats.
Al-Araji further noted that achieving sustainable security involves more than just security measures. It requires addressing the root causes of extremism, consolidating values of moderation, supporting development, and strengthening regional and international cooperation. These efforts aim to safeguard common interests and fulfill the aspirations of the region's peoples for peace and prosperity.
