Baghdad: The security advisor to the Prime Minister, Qasim al-Araji, emphasized the significance of security and intelligence cooperation as a fundamental aspect for bolstering security and stability on both regional and international fronts.

According to Iraqi News Agency, al-Araji, in a post on the X platform, reiterated the Iraqi government’s belief that comprehensive security and intelligence collaboration is essential for enhancing security and stability globally. This can be achieved by developing mechanisms for information exchange, coordinating joint efforts, combatting terrorism financing, and tightening border security. Such measures aim to enhance the ability to anticipate and effectively counter emerging threats.

He further mentioned that achieving lasting security requires not only security measures but also addressing the underlying causes of extremism. This involves consolidating the values of moderation, supporting development, and fostering regional and international cooperation to safeguard shared interests and fulfill the aspirations of the region’s people for peace and prosperity.
