Baghdad: National Security Advisor Qasim al-Araji affirmed on Friday that Iraqi territory will not be allowed to be used to launch attacks against any country. The announcement came during a meeting with the head of the Kuwaiti Intelligence Service, Meshaal Al-Hooli, and his accompanying delegation at Al-Araji’s office.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on strengthening fraternal relations between Iraq and Kuwait and exploring ways to develop them to serve common interests and enhance bilateral cooperation. Al-Araji emphasized Iraq’s commitment to continuing joint efforts to combat terrorism and highlighted the need to prevent the exploitation of Iraqi territory for attacks on any country. He expressed hope for resolving regional challenges through diplomatic means rather than conflict.
Al-Araji also reiterated Iraq’s demand for countries to withdraw their citizens from Al-Hol camp in Syria, warning that the camp’s continued existence poses a threat to regional and global security. Meanwhile, Al-Hooli emphasized the importance of constructive cooperation between the two nations to prevent regional conflict. He affirmed that both countries are making concerted efforts to achieve lasting peace by bridging differences in line with their higher interests and those of their peoples.
