Al-Asadi: Advanced Air Defense System to Arrive in Iraq in the First Quarter of Next Year


Baghdad: Air Defense Commander Lieutenant General Muhannad Ghaleb Al-Asadi confirmed on Monday that an advanced system will arrive next year, capable of combating sophisticated targets such as aircraft, as well as operating under electronic warfare conditions.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, Lieutenant General Al-Asadi stated, “In the first quarter of next year, a very advanced air defense missile system will arrive, providing the Air Defense Command with advanced capabilities through which we will be able to carry out a large portion of its missions and duties.”



He emphasized that the system would be advanced and capable of combating targets such as aircraft and other aerial threats. Additionally, it is designed to operate effectively under electronic warfare conditions, enhancing the country’s defense capabilities.
