Amman: Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed Al-Asadi engaged in discussions with Oman's Minister of Social Development, Laila bint Ahmed Al-Najjar, focusing on mutual interests, particularly regarding social protection. This dialogue occurred during the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs in Amman, Jordan.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Asadi emphasized Iraq's ongoing initiatives to lower poverty rates, referencing the latest statistics from the Ministry of Planning. He assured that the Ministry of Labor is actively implementing social protection programs aimed at supporting the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly, female breadwinners, and orphans.

Furthermore, Al-Asadi addressed the Law of the Commission for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and Special Needs, detailing recent legislative amendments designed to enhance the rights and social inclusion of these groups.

The Omani minister conveyed her country's interest in drawing insights from Iraq's social protection strategies, as part of a broader effort to foster joint cooperation and expertise exchange between Iraq and Oman.
