Samarra: The Holy Shrine of Imam al-Askari announced the success of its security, service, and health plans for the commemoration of the martyrdom of Imam al-Hasan al-Askari, revealing significant figures related to the event.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages at the General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam al-Askari concluded the five-day commemoration, celebrating the smooth execution of plans which facilitated the arrival of millions of pilgrims both from within Iraq and abroad. The event was marked by a spiritual atmosphere, demonstrating the profound devotion to the Ahlulbayt.
The shrine’s statement highlighted that this success was a result of the collaborative efforts involving the shrine’s departments, staff, other holy shrines, relevant ministries, departmental processions, volunteers, and social organizations. The recorded statistics include more than four million pilgrims, over 3,142 volunteers from various governorates, and more than 1,132 mourning and service processions. Additionally, the event was covered by over 900 media outlets, supported by 27 service and medical entities.
The shrine expressed gratitude towards all supporting entities, including the Shiite Endowment Office, local tribes, the local government of Salah al-Din Governorate, and various security forces. The contribution of the Hussaini processions, the media, and esteemed visitors were particularly acknowledged for their roles in ensuring the smooth flow of pilgrims and the successful performance of rituals. Special mention was given to the Hawza’s outreach project and the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages in the Prime Minister’s Office.
