Baghdad: Deputy Speaker of Parliament Farhad al-Atroushi has issued a directive for the Governor of Baghdad and the Head of the Provincial Council to be summoned to provide clarification on the criteria utilized for altering the leadership of administrative units and their associated bodies.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a press release from the Parliament’s Media Office detailed that Deputy Speaker Farhad al-Atroushi presided over a portion of the parliamentary session. The session was convened to discuss the demands from Parliament members regarding the appointment of senior and top-ranking graduates in adherence to legal provisions ensuring their rights. Additionally, the discussion encompassed the recruitment of graduates in medical and health professions, and the regularization of employment for contract workers across all job titles.

The statement further elaborated that the Deputy Speaker has mandated the summoning of the Governor of Baghdad, the Head of the Provincial Council, and pertinent parties within the Committee on Regions and Provinces Not Organized into a Region. The purpose of this is to elucidate the criteria applied in the changes made to the heads of administrative units and their affiliated bodies.
