Baghdad: Dr. Aqeel Al-Fariji, head of the Security and Border Crossings Committee in the Basra Provincial Council, conducted a field visit to the Shalamcheh border crossing with the Islamic Republic of Iran late at night. This visit coincides with the increasing number of pilgrims arriving through the crossing.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Basra Provincial Council released a statement indicating that Al-Fariji personally oversaw the smooth flow of pilgrims entering the country. He reviewed the mechanisms for organizing the movement of people and the coordination level between security and service agencies operating at the crossing. This oversight aims to ensure the swift completion of procedures and facilitate the pilgrims' journey to the holy city of Karbala for the Arba'een pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
