Basra: The head of the security committee in the Basra Provincial Council, Aqeel al-Fariji, confirmed that the local government’s initiative, which departed today for Najaf and Karbala, included providing air-conditioned and comfortable buses, as well as government and private vehicles, to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and mourners free of charge.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Basra convoy, consisting of more than 150 buses, departed today, Tuesday, for the provinces of Najaf and Karbala to participate in the funeral procession for the martyr Sayyid Ali Khamenei tomorrow, Wednesday.

The legislative and executive branches of the government, along with security leaders in the province, participated in seeing off the convoy, which departed from the sports city.
