Cairo: Member of the Iraqi Parliament and Arab Parliament, Hanan al-Fatlawi, affirmed on Wednesday the support of Iraq and its people, represented by the Parliament, for the Palestinian cause.
According to Iraqi News Agency, MP Hanan al-Fatlawi, representing Speaker of Parliament Haybat al-Halbousi, participated in the meetings of the Preparatory Committee for the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and the Speakers of Arab Parliaments and Councils, which are being held over two days in Cairo, Egypt. The Parliament's Media Office stated in a press release that these discussions focused on the agenda and final arrangements for the upcoming conference, scheduled for the 27th of this month, with participation from the Speakers of Arab Parliaments and Councils and their Secretaries-General.
The preparatory committee addressed various files related to the overall situation in the Arab world. Of particular note were topics such as the adoption of a draft Arab parliamentary vision on digital sovereignty and a draft resolution concerning a unified Arab parliamentary stance on attacks against the sovereignty of Arab states. The committee also considered a draft resolution aimed at confronting Zionist policies that threaten the Palestinian cause and reinforcing the Arab parliamentary position in support of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
Al-Fatlawi, also a member of the Arab Parliament, emphasized the importance of achieving unified Arab positions that reflect the people's will. She highlighted Iraq's commitment, represented by the Parliament and at all levels, to support the aspirations of Arab peoples regarding various challenges and issues, particularly the Palestinian cause.
