Al-Fayyadh Announces Imminent Vote on Popular Mobilization Commission Law

Baghdad: The head of the Popular Mobilization Commission, Faleh al-Fayyadh, confirmed today that the law governing the Commission will be put to a vote, establishing it as a legal document. This will be succeeded by the enactment of the service and retirement law.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Fayyadh stated that the service and retirement law for the Popular Mobilization Commission is the culmination of years of effort. He emphasized that the Commission's law is set to become a legal document, paving the way for the implementation of the service and retirement law.

Al-Fayyadh elaborated that the Popular Mobilization Commission is tasked with determining the interests of the PMF and its members. The service and retirement law reflects years of research and preparation. He addressed misconceptions, asserting that some critics misinterpret the law for political motives, clarifying that the legal age concerns the Chief of Staff and other officials, not the head of the Commission. Al-Fayyadh expressed hope for the passage of both laws within the current year.
