Al-Hakim Advocates for Yazidi Justice and Unity Amid Genocide Documentation Efforts


Baghdad: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, underscored the critical importance of achieving justice for the Yazidi community, emphasizing the need for comprehensive documentation of the genocide they endured. Al-Hakim called for unity among the Yazidis and broader Iraqi society to confront ongoing challenges.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, during a meeting with a delegation from the Yazda Organization and several survivors of the Yazidi genocide perpetrated by takfiri gangs, al-Hakim highlighted the necessity of doing justice to the Yazidis and other Iraqi communities. He advocated for compensatory measures to address the harm, displacement, and abuse suffered by the community. Al-Hakim stressed that justice could be facilitated through legislative actions and efforts to liberate kidnapped individuals.



Al-Hakim further emphasized the significance of Yazidi unity, noting that shared challenges should foster solidarity, helping the community overcome past grievances and transcend differences. He highlighted the Yazidi community as a valuable component of Iraqi society, enriching its diversity.



In his remarks, al-Hakim urged the resolution of compensation issues for genocide survivors. He stressed the importance of documenting the atrocities committed against the Yazidis to ensure future generations are educated about these events. He advocated for the inclusion of this historical narrative in school curricula and its promotion across various media and artistic platforms.
