According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Hakim's office detailed a meeting between al-Hakim and President Rashid on Sunday evening. During the meeting, they exchanged congratulations on the success of the recent parliamentary elections and the positive messages these elections conveyed. The statement affirmed Iraqi society's commitment to the democratic and electoral process and the peaceful transfer of power.
