Baghdad: Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, engaged in discussions with Victoria Taylor, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs, focusing on the political developments in Iraq and the broader region. Al-Hakim emphasized Iraq’s capability to defend itself during these talks.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim highlighted in a statement that Iraq showcases a significant model through its political system, which includes peaceful transitions of power and a clear separation of powers. He noted that Iraq is experiencing an unprecedented level of stability across political, social, and security domains, which he attributed to the sacrifices made by Iraqis from all societal components.
Al-Hakim also mentioned the collective support from Iraqis to maintain and enhance this stability with the goal of achieving permanent stability. He underscored his commitment to resolving crises, prioritizing national interests over personal ones, and reiterated Iraq’s ability to independently defend its sovereignty.
