Al-Hakim Calls for International Support to Restore Stability in Iraq


Baghdad: During a meeting with the Russian ambassador, Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, urged influential countries to take an active role in restoring stability to the region. Al-Hakim and Russian Ambassador to Iraq, Elbrus Kutrashev, discussed political developments in Iraq and the broader region, as well as explored ways to enhance bilateral relations between Baghdad and Moscow.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of international efforts to bring an end to the current regional escalation and to restore security and stability. He highlighted the economic challenges facing Iraq, urging for lessons to be learned from the ongoing crisis and for measures to be taken to address its financial repercussions.



Al-Hakim also addressed the issue of restricting weapons to state control, advocating for this matter to be handled with appropriate priorities and timelines through dialogue and understanding with relevant parties. He further called for the continuation of the anti-corruption campaign and the recovery of public funds to ensure long-term stability and prosperity in Iraq.
