Karbala: Ammar Al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, has called for holding accountable those responsible for the collapse of Al-Atishi overpass in Karbala Governorate, which occurred on Saturday evening.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hakim expressed his concerns on the X platform, stating, “The lives of Iraqis are too precious to be neglected, and those responsible for Al-Atishi bridge incident must be held accountable immediately.” The incident, which took place in Al-Husseiniyah near the northern entrance of the governorate, involved a section of the overpass collapsing during a concrete pouring operation. This unfortunate event resulted in injuries to several civilians who were passing by at the time.

In response to the incident, the Prime Minister has taken swift action by ordering the formation of a joint investigative committee. This committee will include representatives from the Higher Coordination Commission between Provinces and Karbala Governorate. Their task is to thoroughly examine the details of the incident and establish responsibilities and accountability for the collapse.
