Baghdad: The Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized today, Monday, the importance of adhering to the constitution as the framework for the political process. A statement by his media office indicated that “al-Hakim met this evening in his Baghdad office with a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, headed by Nizar Amidi, where they exchanged views on developments in the political landscape in Iraq and the region, as well as constitutional entitlements and the remaining three presidencies.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim stressed “the importance of adhering to the constitution as the framework for the political process,” calling for “unifying the Kurdish position and agreeing on a single candidate,” explaining that “this will facilitate the task for the other political blocs and contribute to expediting the completion of constitutional entitlements.”

Al-Hakim stressed “adopting the principle of partnership and national interest in addressing entitlements and confronting challenges,” calling for addressing economic challenges through sound planning, moving away from a rentier state, diversifying income sources, and stimulating productive sectors in a way that enhances economic stability and establishes sustainable development that serves all the people of Iraq.
