Baghdad: The Head of the National State Forces Alliance, Mr. Ammar al-Hakim, underscored the significance of informed media in bolstering democracy, highlighting the necessity for legislative updates and enhanced digital sovereignty. This statement was made during a meeting with key figures from government and union media institutions, including the Head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad al-Lami.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim's media office released a statement detailing the meeting, which was attended by notable figures such as the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Karim Hammadi, and the head of the Communications and Media Commission, Nawfal Abu Raghif, among others. Al-Hakim stressed the importance of media strategies for parliamentary elections and the protection of these processes from external influences. Al-Hakim called for the initiation and completion of new media legislation that aligns with modern developments and addresses existing legal issues stemming from outdated laws enacted in the 1970s.
