Baghdad: The Head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, met this evening with a parliamentary delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran. During the meeting, they reviewed regional developments and bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of utilizing the Arbaeen pilgrimage to enhance official and societal cooperation between Iraq and Iran, acknowledging the significant role this event plays in strengthening ties.

Al-Hakim expressed his appreciation for the resilience of the Iranian people and their unity with their leadership and institutions. He commended the Iranian Shura Council for its support of the Iranian populace.

He also advocated for enhanced parliamentary cooperation between Iraq and Iran, highlighting the necessity to form joint committees to address issues of mutual interest. Additionally, he emphasized the exchange of expertise between the two nations, noting Iraq’s solid parliamentary experience and its preparations for development in the upcoming elections.
