Baghdad: The head of the National State Forces Alliance, Ammar al-Hakim, affirmed that regional stability is essential for the security of its countries and peoples, stressing that any threat in one part of the region will negatively affect its overall stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Hakim’s media office noted that he received the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister, Saeed Khatibzadeh, in the presence of Iran’s Ambassador to Baghdad, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq. The meeting focused on discussing bilateral relations between Iraq and Iran and exploring ways to enhance them for the benefit of both nations. Additionally, the latest regional developments were reviewed.

Al-Hakim highlighted the spirit of solidarity demonstrated during the Arbaeen pilgrimage and subsequent religious occasions, emphasizing that such events reflect the depth of spiritual and social ties among peoples. He also addressed Iraq’s internal situation, indicating that the upcoming elections are crucial for achieving lasting stability and establishing a new political phase in the country.
