Al-Hakim Strongly Condemns the Pakistan Bombing and Renews His Call to Dry Up the Sources of Terrorism


Islamabad: Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, renewed his call on the international community to intensify efforts to dry up the intellectual and financial sources of terrorism.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim expressed his deepest condolences and sympathy to the friendly state of Pakistan and to the families of the victims, voicing profound sorrow over the terrorist bombing that targeted a mosque in the capital, Islamabad. The attack left dozens of martyrs and wounded among followers of Ahl al-Bayt.



He strongly condemned the attack, stressing the need for coordinated international action to confront terrorism and eliminate its ideological roots and funding sources. Al-Hakim also prayed for mercy for the victims and a speedy recovery for the injured.



Earlier on Friday, a suicide bombing targeted a Hussainiya in Islamabad during Friday prayers. The attack resulted in the death of at least 31 people, according to local authorities, while police sources reported that more than 130 others were injured.
