Diyala:Ammar al-Hakim, head of the National State Forces Alliance, visited the Diyala Operations Command headquarters on Thursday, where he engaged with the operations commander and security leadership in the province. During his visit, he praised the efforts made to stabilize the security situation in Diyala, describing it as a “microcosm of Iraq” due to its diverse social composition.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Hakim emphasized the importance of ongoing security and intelligence operations to combat terrorism, urging against complacency. He compared terrorist cells to “cancerous cells,” highlighting the need for vigilance as Iraq focuses on economic development, which requires a stable and secure environment conducive to investment.
Al-Hakim stressed the importance of reassuring all social components and preventing environments that might sympathize with terrorism. He insisted that responsibility should be attributed to individuals involved rather than generalizing blame to entire regions or groups. Moreover, he advocated for self-reliance, leveraging the experience Iraqis have gained in combating terrorism.
He noted the challenging dynamic security personnel face, where success is mandatory at every step, contrasting with terrorists who seek to assert their presence through any means. Al-Hakim also addressed the drug trade, labeling it as a different form of terrorism. He called for comprehensive solutions beyond arresting traffickers, emphasizing the need for radical, long-term plans and programs to tackle the issue effectively.
