Al-Hakim Urges Kurdish Delegation to Prioritize Constitution and Public Interest

Baghdad: The head of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized the importance of adhering to the constitution and making concessions for the public interest during a meeting with a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The delegation, led by Nizar Amedi and Justice Minister Khalid Shawani, visited al-Hakim's office on Tuesday to discuss current political developments.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting focused on the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the relationship between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government. Al-Hakim highlighted the importance of maintaining the political, social, security, and economic stability that Iraq has achieved.

Al-Hakim called for thorough preparations for the upcoming elections, underscoring the need for broad, effective, and informed participation across all Iraqi arenas. He described the elections as a crucial turning point, marking a transition from a period of fragile stability to one of sustainable stability.

In addressing the relationship between the federal government and the regional government, al-Hakim reiterated the necessity of adhering to the constitution and applicable laws. He also emphasized the importance of making concessions for the public interest to ensure continued progress and stability in the region.
