Baghdad:Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Haibat al-Halbousi, and the leader of the National Wisdom Movement, Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized the urgency of expediting the discussion and approval of the national budget during their meeting on Tuesday.

According to Iraqi News Agency, the media office of the Speaker reported that al-Halbousi hosted al-Hakim to discuss various pressing issues, including political developments and legislative priorities in Iraq. The focus was on matters that have a direct impact on citizens’ needs.

The meeting underscored the importance of swiftly reviewing and approving the national budget. This step is deemed crucial for facilitating service-oriented and developmental projects and programs. Additionally, both leaders highlighted the need for enhanced coordination between the legislative and executive branches and pledged to support the government’s efforts in executing its official program.
