Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi and a delegation from the Reconstruction and Development parliamentary bloc emphasized on Saturday the necessity of cooperation and coordination to pass important legislation.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s media office stated in a press release that “al-Halbousi received a delegation of MPs from the Reconstruction and Development bloc, who congratulated him on his election as Speaker for the sixth parliamentary session,” wishing him “success in his legislative duties.”

The statement further added that “the meeting stressed the importance of activating the oversight and legislative role of Parliament in the coming period, and the necessity of cooperation and coordination among parliamentary blocs to pass important laws that meet the aspirations of the citizens.”
