Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met today with a delegation from the State Forces Alliance bloc to discuss the importance of strengthening the oversight and legislative roles and supporting the work of parliamentary committees.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Speaker’s media office issued a press release stating that al-Halbousi received a delegation from the State Forces Alliance bloc, headed by MP Ali Shaddad. The meeting focused on a number of issues related to the parliamentary work, highlighting the importance of enhancing the oversight and legislative roles and supporting the work of parliamentary committees to complete priority legislation.

The statement further emphasized the importance of cooperation between parliamentary blocs to contribute to unifying efforts within Parliament. The meeting stressed the need to support legislative and oversight processes and enhance the performance of the legislative institution, aligning with the requirements of the current stage and the aspirations of the citizens.
