Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi has issued a strong condemnation of the recent targeting of security forces headquarters affiliated with the Popular Mobilization Forces. Al-Halbousi described the attack as a reprehensible act that poses a severe threat to the nation’s security, stability, and social peace.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi’s statement highlighted that any assault on security forces, in all their forms, represents a grave violation against state institutions and undermines their authority. He urged the government to implement necessary measures to safeguard security forces and promote stability within the country.
Emphasizing the importance of a prudent approach, al-Halbousi called for wisdom and responsibility in addressing these developments. He advocated for efforts to prevent Iraq from descending into conflict and tension, highlighting that such paths do not align with the interests of the Iraqi people.
Al-Halbousi further extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the nation, wishing divine mercy upon them, a swift recovery for the injured, and protection for Iraq and its citizens from harm.
