Al-Halbousi discusses with the Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly the activation of friendship committees between the two parliaments

Baghdad Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, discussed with the Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boghali, the relations between the two brotherly countries and the activation of friendship committees between the two parliaments.

A statement by his media office stated that Al-Halbousi met today, Thursday, the Speaker of the Algerian National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Bogali, and his accompanying delegation, on the sidelines of the conference of the Union of Councils of Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation held in Algeria, during which they discussed relations between the two brotherly countries, and the importance of activating friendship committees between the two parliaments, and coordinating cooperation at all levels.

Al-Halbousi stressed, according to the statement, the necessity of seeking to unify visions and positions on issues of common concern in various international parliamentary forums, foremost of which is the Palestinian cause.

For his part, the President of the Algerian National People’s Assembly congratulated Al-Halbousi on his appointment as head of the Arab Parliamentary Union, stressing support for common positions, especially the Palestinian issue, and his aspiration for more cooperation between the two parliaments, pointing to the importance of Iraq’s Arab and Islamic status.
