Al-Halbousi Engages in Discussions on Key Card Company’s Banking Operations


Baghdad: Speaker of Parliament Haibat al-Halbousi met with Ammar Subhi, Head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit, and Abdul Hassan Jamal, Head of the National Pension Authority, to discuss the operational mechanisms of the “Key Card” company and the mechanisms for providing banking services.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the Speaker’s office detailed that Al-Halbousi received the officials, along with Iman Adnan Saad, Deputy Director General of Rafidain Bank. The meeting focused on the operational procedures of the “Key Card” company, which has a contractual agreement with Rafidain Bank. Discussions included the nature of the services provided, the methods of delivering banking services, and the compliance with contractual obligations and government regulations.



The Speaker raised several questions regarding the company’s activities, such as the mechanisms for granting bank loans and financing investments. Further inquiries were made into the volume of financing provided, the benefiting sectors and segments, and the financial returns achieved. These discussions aimed to clarify the guarantees adopted between Rafidain Bank, the company, and the beneficiary sectors, ensuring the protection of public funds.



The meeting highlighted the need for accurate and transparent data concerning financial and contractual procedures. The Speaker emphasized the importance of safeguarding public funds and delivering optimal services to citizens in line with current laws and regulations.
