Baghdad:The Speaker of Parliament, Hebat al-Halbousi, has affirmed his support for the Christian community in Iraq, backing all efforts aimed at guaranteeing their rights and stability.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi met with His Beatitude Mar Ignatius Joseph III Younan, the Patriarch of Antioch for the Syriac Catholics, and a delegation that included the head of the Office of Endowments for Christian, Yazidi, and Sabean Mandaean Religions, Rami Joseph Aghajan.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the current situation of the Christian community in Iraq, efforts to facilitate the return of displaced persons and migrants to their original areas, and addressing the challenges they face. Al-Halbousi emphasized the importance of the Christian community as a vital part of the Iraqi national fabric.
