Baghdad: Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Haibat al-Halbousi, confirmed on Saturday that Iraq registered its reservation on the phrase “two-state solution” in the final statement of the Arab Parliamentary Conference. A statement from the Speaker’s Media Office, carried by the Iraqi News Agency (WAA), quoted al-Halbousi as saying, “Iraq registers its reservation on the term ‘two-state solution’ in the final statement issued by the Eighth Conference of the Arab Parliament and Speakers of Arab Councils and Parliaments held in Cairo.”

According to Iraqi News Agency, al-Halbousi affirmed Iraq’s support for the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
