Al-hassan: The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Mohammed Al-Hassan, affirmed: “The Great Mosque of al-Nuri would not have seen the light of day without the determination of the Iraqis.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Hassan delivered a short speech at the opening ceremony of the Great Mosque of al-Nuri and Al-Hadba Minaret. In his remarks, he highlighted the resilience and perseverance of the Iraqi people in restoring the historic site. “Today we stand in the city of Mosul to declare to the world its victory over terrorism,” Al-Hassan stated, marking a significant milestone in the region’s recovery efforts.
