Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi was briefed today, Monday, on the application of the fifth and final simulation, prior to the holding of the October 10 elections.
Al-Kadhimi said during his visit to the headquarters of the Independent High Electoral Commission (IHEC): “The success of implementing the fifth simulation today, indicates the full preparations for holding fair and transparent elections, which express the aspirations of Iraqis for the future.”
The Prime Minister affirmed that the government fulfilled its pledges it made to the Iraqi people, and provided all measures that would facilitate the work of the IHEC and enhance the democratic experience.
He indicated that the October 10 elections are a historic opportunity for change and course correction.
Al-Kadhimi stressed to deal firmly with any attempt of fraud, and not to allow it, and also stressed the continuous follow-up to abuses and violations by candidates and parties, as they will be dealt with legally by the Commission.
