Baghdad Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi said: “We want to secure Iraq’s future away from dependence on an unsustainable economy, as oil wealth will not be dominant throughout life, and many countries have begun to search for alternative and clean energies.”

Al-Kadhimi added during the cabinet session held today: “We inherited the oil wealth from our fathers, and we are supposed to develop this great legacy, not just drain it, and deprive future generations of its bounties.

He added “We are continuing to work on activating the Fund for Future Generations, based on a sense of responsibility towards our children and grandchildren.”
