Najaf: The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has officially included Al-Kafeel University among its strategic partners in the fields of artificial intelligence, sustainable development, and quality education, marking a significant step that reflects the university’s growing international standing in academic and administrative spheres.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, this recognition comes as a result of the university’s dedicated efforts to expand its global presence and keep pace with advancements in the education sector. Dr. Nawras Mohammed Al-Dahan, President of the University, and Dr. Ali Jasim Al-Amiri, Dean of the College of Engineering, have been appointed as official representatives of Al-Kafeel University in training programs and international meetings organized under the supervision of UNESCO’s regional office, funded by the Government of Japan.

Dr. Al-Dahan expressed pride in this achievement, emphasizing that the university’s inclusion in UNESCO’s partner network reflects its strong commitment to improving the quality of education, advancing scientific research, and contributing actively to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The university has also been formally registered as a member of the Greening Education Partnership, one of UNESCO’s flagship programs aimed at supporting climate adaptation and strengthening environmental responsiveness in academic institutions.
