Baghdad: The Secretary-General of the Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq Movement, Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, has issued a stern warning to the British ambassador, emphasizing Iraq’s sovereignty and cautioning against foreign interference in Iraq’s internal matters. Al-Khazali’s comments have sparked discussions on diplomatic boundaries and the role of international envoys in sovereign states.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Khazali expressed his views through a tweet on the (X) platform, where he reiterated that Iraq’s security forces, including the Popular Mobilization Forces, are a matter of national sovereignty. He underscored the importance of respecting Iraq’s independence, urging the British ambassador to recognize his limits and refrain from engaging in issues beyond his diplomatic jurisdiction. Al-Khazali also called upon Iraq’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to issue a warning to the ambassador, reinforcing the necessity for diplomatic respect and non-interference.
