Al-Mahmadawi Oversees Pilgrimage Preparations at Al-Mundhiriyah Border Crossing

Baghdad: Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command and Head of the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages, Lieutenant General Qais Al-Mahmadawi, arrived in Diyala Province on Tuesday morning, accompanied by a high-level security delegation. Al-Mahmadawi's visit is part of the ongoing efforts to ensure the readiness and security of the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing for the upcoming Arbaeen pilgrimage. According to Iraqi News Agency, the visit was organized by the Supreme Committee for Million-Person Pilgrimages, which highlighted Al-Mahmadawi's engagement with the heads of the specialized service, security, and technical committees. The primary focus of the visit was to evaluate the preparations in place for receiving the influx of pilgrims attending the Arbaeen pilgrimage of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) through the Al-Mundhiriyah border crossing. The review also included an inspection of the sector of responsibility to ensure all protocols are being followed efficiently.
