Al-Maliki Assures Kuwaiti Ambassador Of Iraq’s Quest For Openness, Stability And Calm At The Regional Level

Baghdad Head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, affirmed Iraq’s quest for openness, stability and calm at the regional level.

The coalition’s media office stated: “Al-Maliki met in his office today, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait to Iraq, Salem Ghasab Al-Zamanan, and during the meeting, issues of common interest were discussed. The latest political and security developments and the repercussions of the parliamentary election results crisis were reviewed.”

Al-Maliki stressed the need to strengthen relations and cooperation with friendly and brotherly countries, including the State of Kuwait, pointing to Iraq’s quest for openness, stability and calm at the regional level.

The head of the State of Law coalition stressed: “The political forces are determined to overcome the crisis of questioning the results of the elections through legal and constitutional frameworks and not to escalate,” calling on the concerned authorities in the Electoral Commission and the Judiciary to do justice to the objecting forces by studying the evidence and appeals submitted with everything related to the course of the electoral process for the purpose of speeding up the formation of a consensus government capable of shouldering the burden of responsibility.

For his part, the Kuwaiti ambassador expressed his country’s support for Iraq in various fields, stressing the importance of developing distinguished relations between the two neighboring countries
