Baghdad: The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Saudi Arabian ambassador to Iraq, Abdulaziz al-Shammari, affirmed the importance of expanding cooperation between Iraq and Saudi Arabia in a way that serves the interests of both nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from al-Maliki’s media office indicated that Nouri al-Maliki received Abdulaziz al-Shammari at his office. The meeting highlighted the significance of strengthening ties between the two countries.

The statement added that Ambassador al-Shammari congratulated al-Maliki on the success of the elections and the State of Law Coalition’s strong showing. The discussions also covered the future of bilateral relations, developments in the political landscape, and regional challenges.
