Al-Maliki Stresses Need for Safe Environment for Journalists in Iraq


Baghdad: During his meeting with the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Al-Maliki stressed the need to provide a safe environment for journalistic and media work in Iraq and to support the journalistic community. The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, emphasized the importance of empowering the media community to fulfill its professional mission.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, this was highlighted during Al-Maliki’s meeting in Baghdad with Moaid Al-Lami, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate and President of the Federation of Arab Journalists. Al-Maliki expressed his appreciation for the pivotal role journalists play in supporting the political process and conveying the truth, praising the sacrifices made by Iraqi media professionals in the line of duty.



Al-Maliki also commended the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate for its role in conveying Iraq’s voice to regional and international platforms. He noted that the syndicate’s current presidency of the Federation of Arab Journalists has significantly enhanced Iraq’s media influence on Arab and international levels.



Moaid Al-Lami, for his part, expressed his gratitude for the continuous support extended to the media community by Al-Maliki and other national figures. He affirmed the syndicate’s commitment to maintaining its professional and patriotic media mission.
