Babil: Leader of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, declared his strong opposition to any proposal to postpone the elections, asserting that such a delay would signify “the end of democracy and the political process in the country.”
According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Maliki made these remarks during a tribal gathering in Babil Governorate. He emphasized that safeguarding the political process and supporting initiatives aimed at building the state are key tenets of the State of Law’s philosophy.
He further articulated that reverting to dictatorship, racism, sectarianism, mass graves, and futile wars is entirely intolerable. Al-Maliki underscored the primary objective of constructing a robust and resilient Iraq capable of enduring crises without being compromised.
