Al-Mandalawi and Al-Asadi Discuss Government Formation Based on National Priorities


Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, met with the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Ahmed al-Asadi, to discuss key issues under the ministry’s purview, particularly social protection and the care of people with disabilities.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, al-Mandalawi affirmed that “the legislative authority, during its fifth session, has been keen to provide the necessary legal and oversight framework for these segments of society, in order to achieve social justice and ensure a dignified life for them.”



Both sides emphasized the importance of strengthening coordination among political forces to ensure the improvement of public services, enhance economic performance, and consolidate political and security stability. They also stressed the need to capitalize on the positive atmosphere to fulfill upcoming constitutional obligations within their designated timeframes and to proceed with forming a government based on a realistic program that addresses national priorities and lays the foundation for building a just and strong state capable of confronting challenges and placing Iraq’s interests above all else.
