Al-Mandalawi and Talabani Discuss Constitutional Entitlements and Political Developments

Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen al-Mandalawi, met with Qubad Talabani to discuss the latest political developments and the implementation of constitutional entitlements.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting took place at al-Mandalawi's residence on Monday evening, where he received a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). The delegation was led by Qubad Talabani, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region. The discussions focused on the recent political developments and ongoing dialogues among the winning parties in the parliamentary elections concerning the formation of the next federal government.

Al-Mandalawi highlighted the necessity of intensifying meetings among political forces during this critical period. He emphasized the importance of reaching mutual understandings regarding constitutional entitlements and forming a government that is strong and capable of serving the people. Furthermore, he stressed the need to prioritize the supreme national interest, unify ranks to confront challenges, and strengthen the partnership between the central government and the Kurdistan Region in line with the constitution and applicable laws. Al-Mandalawi noted that these efforts would aid in consolidating political stability and moving towards a phase of reform and development.
