Baghdad:Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, held discussions with the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Anil Bora Inan, focusing on the organization of water resources and recent progress in road development and electrical interconnection projects.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting emphasized the Iraqi government’s support for the bilateral agreement with Ankara. This agreement is aimed at enhancing coordination in energy sectors, expanding renewable energy investments, and providing necessary facilities for Turkish companies, businessmen, and investors.

The discussions also covered ways to manage the joint water resources and the latest updates on the development road and electricity interconnection projects between Iraq and Turkey. Both sides highlighted the importance of establishing oil refineries within Iraq as outlined in the joint agreement. The agreement also includes effective collaboration with the Ministry of Water Resources to activate the provisions of the water agreement.
