Baghdad: The First Deputy Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, emphasized the critical importance of supporting Iraq in strategic domains to bolster its political and economic stability.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Mandalawi made these remarks during a meeting with Michel Siders, the political advisor at the US Embassy in Iraq. The discussion focused on the current local and regional situations, including developments in Gaza and Lebanon. During the meeting, Al-Mandalawi reiterated that support in strategic files is vital for enhancing the country’s political and economic stability.
Al-Mandalawi underscored the necessity of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States, advocating for expanded cooperation in various fields to benefit both nations.
Touching upon regional issues, Al-Mandalawi urged for swift international intervention to aid reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon. He emphasized the urgency of accelerating the delivery of humanitarian aid to affected areas and called for all parties to adhere to ceasefire agreements in both regions. He reiterated Iraq’s firm stance in supporting the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and condemned any violations that threaten regional security and sovereignty.
