Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, affirmed, today, Monday, Iraq’s keenness to be open with its regional and international surroundings in a way that serves the interests of the peoples.

Al-Mandalawi’s media office stated in a statement, ‘The Acting Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, received at his residence this evening, Monday, a group of international experts and researchers from representatives of the Chatham House Center for International Affairs in London.’

He added, “During the meeting, the latest developments on the local scene were discussed, and Iraq’s vision for the future of the relationship with the international coalition was stated, as Al-Mandalawi stressed the country’s need for bilateral, non-military relations in the economic, investment and other fields with the countries participating in the coalition,” expressing his “keenness.” Iraq must be open with its regional and international environment in a way that serves the interes
ts of the people. The dialogue also touched on the most prominent challenges and opportunities facing the House of Representatives and the government at the present time, and Iraq’s role in promoting peace and regional stability.

He pointed out that “the meeting discussed the recent developments taking place in the Middle East region, especially what is happening in Palestine. The acting Speaker of the House of Representatives renewed Iraq’s firm position in supporting the Palestinian cause and condemning the crimes of the occupation forces,” warning of “the seriousness of the ongoing Zionist genocide crimes.” against the people of Gaza on regional and global peace, while stressing that the region will not enjoy stability and security in light of the presence of this terrorist entity, and that the solution lies in ending the occupation and establishing a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.’
