Al-Mandalawi Emphasizes Strategic Use of Japanese Loan for Key Projects


Baghdad: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi underscored the significance of utilizing a Japanese loan to implement vital strategic projects. Al-Mandalawi highlighted this during a meeting with Japanese Ambassador to Iraq, Akira Endo, and his delegation, where they discussed recent political developments and explored ways to enhance cooperation between Iraq and Japan in various sectors.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting, which took place in Al-Mandalawi’s office, focused on fostering broader Japanese participation in Iraq. Al-Mandalawi encouraged leveraging Iraq’s attractive investment environment and the facilities it offers to prestigious international companies. He emphasized the potential for collaboration in service, development, economic, and educational sectors, all aimed at achieving sustainable development. Furthermore, Al-Mandalawi advocated for the establishment of joint memoranda of cooperation to facilitate the exchange of technical expertise and enhance the capabilities of Iraqi personnel.



The statement from Al-Mandalawi’s media office also highlighted discussions on the Japanese loan, with a particular focus on its strategic investment across all Iraqi governorates. This initiative is expected to strengthen cooperation between Iraq and Japan, benefiting both nations and their citizens.
