Sulaymaniyah: First Deputy Speaker of Parliament Mohsen al-Mandalawi engaged in discussions with the President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Pavel Talabani, focusing on the political, economic, and security situations within the country, alongside regional developments.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mandlawi’s media office released a statement noting that the First Deputy Speaker, accompanied by several representatives, visited Sulaymaniyah on Tuesday evening. The meeting with Talabani covered significant issues pertinent to the country’s diverse components, emphasizing the need for coordinated positions to address national matters. These discussions aim to strengthen the democratic process and ensure stability and rights for all citizens.
The statement highlighted that the upcoming parliamentary elections were a focal point of the conversation. The dialogue stressed the importance of establishing a secure and equitable environment to encourage widespread participation from all political and societal factions. Moreover, they deliberated on improving services across all governorates and the necessity of enhancing cooperation between the federal and regional governments to secure a dignified life for citizens.
In addition to these discussions, Al-Mandlawi and his delegation paid their respects at the tomb of former President Jalal Talabani, reciting Surat Al-Fatihah to honor his memory and his notable national contributions.
